Election integrity is a bipartisan issue
The 10-minute video below is a compilation of several democrats complaining that elections aren’t secure and that voting machines are problematic. It appears that every 4 years there is an outcry about the accuracy of our election process. We all are intimately aware of the possibility of hacking our computer systems. This has been universally acknowledged.
The mainstream news wants you to believe that people who question elections are “election deniers” or conspiracy theorists but in 2016 Democrats were up in arms about elections. There have been concerns for about 21 years, ever since electronic machines were introduced. And considering that our elected officials never seem to leave office but are re-(s)elected repeatedly there is cause for concern.
SC Safe Elections wants fair elections for everyone regardless of their party affiliation. The majority of likely voters don’t trust our current system. A recent Rasmussen poll shows that over 62% of likely voters believe there was cheating in the 2020 election and are concerned that there will be cheating in the 2024 election.
Our mission is to enhance confidence in our elections by ensuring that:
- South Carolina citizens’ votes are transparent and counted properly
- Voter registration rolls are maintained in a timely and accurate manner
- There is accountability, accuracy, and auditability of the election process
We have three main goals:
- Convince our legislators to pass adequate election reform Ideally, we would like to return to one day of voting, minimal absentee balloting and a secure hand counted, paper ballot system. We also need to return the power back to the local level–counties and precincts.
- Return to paper ballots and poll books. It has been proven time and time again that our election management systems can be penetrated. The only way to protect against that is to return to a paper ballot system. Absentee balloting should be kept to an absolute minimum and strong proof of voter ID should be instituted and enforced.
- Clean the voter rolls and reform our registration process. Currently we use information from the ERIC system to move people from active status to inactive if they move or die, however, this system is not working well. (In fact, non-ERIC states have more accurate rolls than states enrolled in ERIC.) We continue to see people in both categories who are still active and who are voting. This whole process needs to be revamped and registering to vote should include verification of all appropriate paperwork to confirm legal voting status.
What we have achieved to date
- Researched certification of the machines- electronic voting system certification through Voting System Test Laboratories (VSTLs) has been deficient. See this article
- Canvassed 8 counties where we found major anomalies: dead people voting, people who had moved from the registered address months and years prior to election day in 2020 who voted in the election—these are all ineligible votes. We also had voters registered at many illegitimate addresses such as vacant lots, graveyards, commercial properties, etc.
- Worked with local citizens to conduct poll observation of the 2022 primaries where many anomalies and violations of the election law were found such as oaths not being followed, absentee ballots being inspected and verified prior to the date legislated, tamper resistant security seals missing and voided, machines “glitches”, candidates missing from the ballot. For a fill list of issues see this summary.
- We are suing to gain access to our Cast Vote Records (CVRs). This was filed in August of ‘22 and has cost us tens of thousands of dollars due to a long, drawn-out discovery process and “lawfaring.” In SC our constitution states that our vote shall not be counted in secret but in fact it is counted in a black box tabulator where we have no idea how the vote is counted during the tabulation, we only know the end result. Note that 27 other states have access to CVRs.
